A Job Fair Experience (Colegio de Dagupan) — March 10, 2012

A Job Fair Experience (Colegio de Dagupan)

March 9, 2012, Colegio de Dagupan Job Fair

It was indeed another successful event powered by Colegio de Dagupan as they gathered Big time companies and us, graduating students inside the arena of the Arzadon gym. It was my first time to attend a job fair (though I already have a job) I could say that it was an incredible experience. It was like being in the world of hunter games where everyone of us (students) fight for one goal, to secure a job.
It was really hard to land on a job nowadays. One must have skill, high grades and confidence so he can go on his way to success. Its difficult, its a long process and it really takes patience. But, the good news is??! Colegio de Dagupan did not left us unprepared and our alma matter made a way to connect us with our future employees.
I bet all of us have their own stories to tell about the job fair, I saw couple of confident students, I saw weak ones, some made an impact with the interviewers and some just passed like a bad air in the fair, but hey guys, its just the start. Our career does not stop there, not in that arena, we are just to open a new world and that career fair is just like a preparation, a training, a mock up of what we are just about to face. If you think you did not do well, don’t despair, use that experience the next time you face a job interview and for those who made it to the interview, Job Well Done!!!
All of these would not be possible ofcourse without Colegio de Dagupan’s concern for us graduating students. Let us not waste and forget what we learnt in this career fair. We will always carry the name of our school wherever and whatever field we are about to land. They had already equipped us with bullets and guns, it is just how are we going to used it according to what was taught in our training ground.
Thank you Colegio de Dagupan.

*by the way, I managed to let my compliance signed by 15 companies, and out of that 15, I received 2 calling cards not bad. 🙂

Spending my College Days at CDD — September 30, 2011

Spending my College Days at CDD

It was October 2008 when I decided to pursue my college degree with the help of my mom and aunt. My mom took charge of my allowance while my aunt paid for my college fee. I took up BS Information Technology at one of the best IT college at Pangasinan, Colegio de Dagupan. Having 6 major college buildings with approximately 8000 students and offering different courses, CDD provides quality education by employing highly competent educators and by using well modernized facilities and equiptments.
My first week in CDD was a real hell. I was like a human sent to the planet Jupites and rest are Aliens. Being a freshman I had hard time touring around the campus coz the buildings are quite far apart. Im kinda shy and introvert type of person so I had hard time making new friends. So most frequently, I stayed at our College Library, computer room, internet cafe’s, anywhere out of that crowded people. As I stayed longer in college, things had also change. I made friends, started leaving my comfort zones and I began to enjoy my college life.
I used to travel 45minutes from house to college. If I ride a jeepney for sure ill be late so I often catch the bus to be ontime. My mom gaves me just enough allowance for my fare and snack so when there are extra e xpenses I skipped meals. Not to boast, I am excellent student at CDD, I maintained good grades and somehow made it to the Deans list. However I got discourage upon knowing and discovering the back end of college life. College life could be as dirty as politics.
Colegio de Dagupan taught me a lot of things even my values, the way I look at learning perspective, the way I handle situations and the way I socialized with others. Month from now Ill be bidding farewell at CDD as I finished my Four years of study, Ill surely carry on all that I have learnt at CDD as I face the challenge of the real world.

Preliminaries — July 20, 2010

Preliminaries

This is the day I hate the most!

A week of nonstop studying since our preliminaries is hust going on… Actually this is our first day, June 20, 2010…

I woke up late! I bathed for 15 minutes skipped my breakfast then went to college. I did’nt study last night for it would definitely be useless. There’s no info going inside my mind.. Around 7:30 Im at the bus, Itried to scan my note but Im feeling dizzy while goin thru it.. At college, Im glead im not late and Im happy that I got only two exams today, those are only minors… I had this subject called Free elective 2, Its Mandarin Chinese class, I  entered this class only once… So what do I expect??? Its okie there will still be midterms, Ill make up on it… Hope I do the best today. Gudluck to me!!!

on the Next Level….. — June 30, 2010

on the Next Level…..

Its been quite long time since I havent wrote my post here.I had been busy at college recently. It all started again. At the first day of college I noticed some difference, some changes. First, I got new instructors in most of my subject s. We’ll definitely it’s somehow positive on my side because these instructors are really worth it to spend the whole semester with. I got 8.am to  5 p.m class for this semester and it’s really no joke since I have four major subjects to deal with and most of it needs programming skills; knowing myself im not really good in programming.

Secondly, I got a whole new batch of classmates.Janine and Jen managed to have the same subjects and scheds as I do but generally speaking, I got new sets of faces to deal with. I belonged to Block 2 in my fourth year  advance subjects. I think those people are  nice as well as Mr. Carino, our professor, an excellent Visual Basic instructor. But going back with my classmates on that 4th year subject even though I find them nice, I still see myself as totally strange. But God is still fair, He sends me one good friend  Danica to be with me in the class.

Third, I noticed that our college had tuition fee increased, and the books!!!!Yes, The books… They want us to purchased books not only a book- but three books and each of those books cost us P650.00. Well to those students who are not suffering from financial crisis it would be just okay, But what about us who dont???? I think it’s quite unfair to require students to buy books…They should let us photocopy or download e-books of the same kind or much better is to borrow from the library. And oh, even the ID LACE, before, they gave it to us for free but now  we should pay P60.00 for it. No new Lace No Entry!

Fouth is our School Policy, I was amazed! Before our college let us enter the College Premises with laptops  freely. Now, it’s different! We still have to fill up passes for carrying laptops otherwise they might confiscate it? I’m not just sure. What’s funny is that They even inspect bags upon leaving the college area.

Fifth is the difficulty of subjects. Whew!!!! It’s really a difficult level now. Not an average one but difficult. I usually goy stuck analyzing our mobile application exercises. As in!!!! System Analysis Design as they say is also quite difficult and ofcourse Netcentric II and ITE Elective 2.

Last but not the least is about my crush. I think Im getting over him. Im happy to say that I’m almost over him. No feelings at all. I mean Yes, it’s over! I got no feelings for him anymore. But still I’m not going to talked with him, but that doesn’t mean I’m bitter or I have something against him.. I really think he is nice and very interesting person to hang along with. (“I’ts just that….”)

So I was still thinking about the changes I mentioned on my Third, Fourth and Fifth List and it left me with the question like: Is Collegio de Dagupan  really getting ready for “U”?  With all this  changes they are imposing, are these signs? Are they getting funds from us students by tuition fee increased? Or the ID Lace? On the other hand, I also want to graduate from a University. It makes a little difference when you get a job, And I will be happy if Colegio de Dagupan will be one of the University next year or next semester… The soon to be Universidad de Dagupan!

Another thing that bothers my mind is What do I expect for this semester? If I’ll scanned some notes of mine or my diary, I always had this entry on what I expect of myself every semester that comes. Some of them I have already achieved and some well I’m still  struggling to achieved.

First of my Goal is that I have to finished this semester whatever happens.

Study harder and maintain good grades well not just passing grades but beyond passing. I dont actually aim fot 95 above but 90 to 85 range.

Making it to the Deans List

Lastly is that I have to joined for the fieldtrip this semester.

okay till here.. Ill write again next time.
